Black exterior windows have become popular in recent years.  They can give your home some extra curb appeal that other homes in your neighborhood may not have.  You can also get Black interior windows.  Black exterior windows cost $300 more per window than White windows. If you also have grids, add $50 for painted grids.  Other exterior colors are also available.

Wood windows cost significantly more than vinyl windows but if you have stained interior window trim, wood windows may be for you.  These are real Pine wood on the interior and have an aluminum cladding on the exterior to protect them from the elements.

Bay windows and bow windows are like mini room additions. They may even need a roof built over the outside. They are quite pricey and the cost to replace a bay window or bow window can range from $9,000 to $10,000 installed based on the size.

*** A less expensive option is to replace the bay window or bow window with a series of windows that go flat across the wall.  This cuts the total cost in half to $4,900 installed which includes all new trim work.

Triple Pane windows cost $100 more per window than double pane windows.  Although triple pane windows have a slightly higher level of energy efficiency than double pane windows, it is not much.  The current level of energy efficiency in double pane windows is so good because of current building code requirements that you don't need triple windows.
