Old drafty windows and doors are one of the biggest areas of heat loss in a home. If your home is more than 25 years old then you do not have windows with the same high energy efficient standards of current windows.
Harvey Windows meet the current 2026 building code requirements for high energy efficincy windows in order reduce the amount of energy needed to heat a home in winter or cool a home in summer.
Mass Save Windows Program
We have worked with the Mass Save program for 25+ years. But they do have updated guidelines to quality for a $75 per window rebate and the Mass Save 0% Heat Loan.
* The old windows you have now MUST be single pane.
* The new windows MUST be triple pane.
* MUST have service with National Grid or Eversource Energy.
Triple pane windows cost $200 more per window but if you qualify for the $75 per window rebate, Mass Save covers part of the cost difference and the 0% Mass Save Heat Loan may make the extra cost worth it.
Are Triple Pane Windows Worth It?
Although triple pane windows have a slightly higher level of energy efficiency than double panes, it is not much. The current level of energy efficiency in double pane windows is so good, based on Massachusetts building codes, that the marginal improvement in efficiency in triple panes is not worth the $150 additional cost of triple pane windows.
*** HOWEVER - If you qualify for the Mass Save rebate and the Mass Save Heat loan, the additional cost may be worth it.
