Are Triple Pane Windows Worth it? NO
Although triple pane windows are slightly more energy efficient than double pane windows, it is not much. The current level of energy efficiency in double pane windows is now so good, because of new building codes, that you don't need triple pane windows.
Triple pane windows cost $200 per window more than double pane windowss. The minimal additional energy savings does NOT justify the higher cost of triple pane windows.
Mass Save Windows Program Changed
We have worked with the Mass Save window replacement program for 25+ years but the guidelines have changed to qualify for the Mass Save windows rebate and Heat Loan.
In 2026, you must now install the most expensive triple triple pane windows, which cost $200 per window more than double pane, in order to qualify for a $75 per window rebate.
Because Mass Save requires you to buy the most expensive triple pane windows to qualify for the rebate, we do NOT think the Mass Save program for windows is a good option anymore. *** We recommend double pane windows.
