Mass Save Windows Program Changed
We have worked with the Mass Save program for 25+ years. But they changed their guidelines. *** Now 90% of homeowners don't even qualify for the windows rebate.
* The old windows you have now MUST be single pane.
* The new windows MUST be the most expensive triple pane.
In 2026, Mass Save requires you to buy the most expensive triple pane windows to qualify for the $75 per window rebate. But the triple pane windows cost $200 more window.
*** We do NOT think the Mass Save windows program is a good option anymore. Most homes don't qualify anyway.
Are Triple Pane Windows Worth It? - NO
Although triple pane windows have a slightly higher level of energy efficiency than double panes, it is not much. The current level of energy efficiency in double pane windows is so good, based on Massachusetts building codes, that the marginal improvement in efficiency in triple panes is NOT worth the $200 additional cost of triple pane windows even if you are eligible for the $75 triple pane Mass Save rebate.
